Overview

We invite submissions for the 1st Workshop on Eye-Tracking and Natural Language Processing (Gaze4NLP 2025), to be held at the RANLP 2025 conference on September 11-13, 2025.

The workshop focuses on the intersection of eye-tracking methodologies and natural language processing. We welcome original research papers that explore how eye movement data can enhance our understanding of language processing, improve NLP models, and lead to more human-centered language technologies.

This year, we particularly encourage submissions exploring the relationship between eye-tracking data and large language models, as well as multimodal approaches combining gaze, text, and other signals.

Topics of Interest

Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Integration of eye-tracking data into NLP models for improved language understanding
  • Computational models of human reading behavior based on gaze patterns
  • Using eye-tracking for evaluation and interpretation of large language models
  • Multimodal approaches combining text, gaze, and other signals
  • Gaze-aware interfaces for language technologies
  • Methods for collecting and preprocessing eye-tracking data for NLP applications
  • Cognitive aspects of language processing informed by gaze data
  • Applications of gaze-enhanced NLP in education, healthcare, and accessibility
  • Ethical considerations in collecting and using gaze data
  • Novel datasets and resources combining eye-tracking and linguistic annotations
